The famous tech CEO Elon Musk recently explained that radar sensors are effective but somehow prevent the potential of Tesla's autonomy and FSD (Full Self-Driving) feature.

He added that if Tesla wants to achieve the perfect autonomous capability, it needs to make self-driving EVs act like their human drivers.

This means that Teslas needs camera sensors (acting as eyes) and an advanced software system (acting as the brain).

According toTech Crunch's latest report, Tesla consumers in Europe and the Middle East will no longer be able to purchase Tesla Model Y and Model 3 units that rely on radar sensors.

This move is a part of the new Tesla Vision effort, which aims to remove radar sensors from all the automaker's electric vehicles.

"Model 3 and Model Y are our higher volume vehicles. Transitioning them to Tesla Vision first allows us to analyze a large volume of real-world data in a short amount of time," said the EV maker viaInside EVs.

The ongoing Tesla Vision effort is quite different from the common market approach conducted by other automakers. As of the moment, other autonomous carmakers still use radar sensors to enhance their autopilot technologies.

Will Tesla Radar Removal Pose Issues?

Tesla Vision's official website announced that there would be some issues once radar sensors are removed from the company's electric cars.
